Roller Coaster of Emotion

Made in collaboration with Mash Vass, using her original digital collage of the same name. Each component of this work was custom designed and built, from the box frame and plexiglass print to the internal electronics and coding. This piece utilizes low energy consumption electronics.

The Chrysalis – Crystal Necklace

After finding a suitable necklace with large panels, I dismantled it in order to isolate the desired pieces. Then I removed the gold metallic surface with sandpaper and drilled several holes throughout the panels in order to give the crystals a better surface to grow on.

Once I prepared the ‘M4 Crystal Growing Experiment Kit’ base solution, I carefully added the seed crystals along with the altered necklace pieces in way that would promote cohesion.

Several days later when the crystals grew to the desired size and shape, I removed the pieces from the solution, rinsed them off, and reassembled the necklace.

Gear Machine

Gear Machine is a 3D printed kinetic sculpture that visually represents the juxtaposition of old and new technology. Gear systems have been used for thousands of years, and over time they have been perfected to become a very precise tool used in modern electronics and machinery.

Glow Player

Glow Player is an interactive piece which resembles a vinyl record player, but uses a glow-in-the-dark disk and a user operated light source to generate a perpetually starting and continually disappearing piece of music.
